No phone on a filing yet? That usually means you're early. A new filing is often a place that hasn't opened, so there's no listing to call. You get the name and the address now, and we keep looking for a phone for a month and add it when one turns up.

How to look up a liquor license in Michigan
Use the MLCC's lookup at customers.mlcc.michigan.gov to check one license by name, number or address. This page lists what's new, from the same record.
Every row here is a public record Michigan publishes. We check each state's rules before we carry it and leave out any that restrict commercial use of licensee lists; so far that's only Kansas. About the data.

Questions about the Michigan page
How do I find new liquor licenses in Michigan?
The Michigan record this page reads lists licenses once they're issued, not applications while they're pending; Michigan publishes it at customers.mlcc.michigan.gov. A newly issued license is the public sign of a place about to open. This page reads that record as often as Michigan updates it and lists the new licenses by county, city and license type, each linked back to the record.
Can I get an alert when a new bar or restaurant shows up in Michigan?
Yes. The free Watch email sends each week's Michigan list on Monday: city, license type, status and date, without business names. A Michigan subscription, $79 a month, sends every new filing the morning after it appears, with the business name and address, and for new bars and restaurants a phone number or website looked up online where the state prints none. A CSV, an API and webhooks come with every plan.
How often does the Michigan page update?
The Michigan source refreshes every weekday, and this page is rebuilt from it each morning.
Where does the Michigan data come from?
Every row is read from customers.mlcc.michigan.gov, the public record Michigan itself publishes, and links back to it. Nothing here comes from a reseller or a news report.
What does the free Michigan sample contain?
Every Michigan filing from one full week a few weeks back, in the layout a subscriber gets: business, address, license type, status, the date filed, and a phone or website where we found one. The link to each state record is left blank; subscribers get it. It downloads ready for HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, AgencyZoom or Repsly.
What do the license types mean?
The types you will see most on the Michigan page. Class C (full bar): Full bar in a restaurant or bar; the quota license that trades hands in Michigan. Tavern (beer and wine): Beer, wine and mixed spirit drinks by the glass; no spirits. SDM (beer and wine to go): Beer and wine to go; the party-store, grocery and gas-station license. SDD (spirits to go): Packaged spirits to go; almost always paired with an SDM. B-Hotel (full bar): Hotel with a full bar. Every row shows the type by its plain name; the i beside it opens the state's own wording.
What is left out?
One-day and temporary permits (weddings, festival booths, charity auctions, tastings), and licenses nobody sells to: wholesalers, suppliers, importers, shippers, carriers, and employee or manager permits. Breweries, wineries and distilleries stay in. The first time we read a state we also treat everything it already listed as the starting point, not as new filings.
What is the MLCC liquor query?
The Michigan Liquor Control Commission's license lookup, where you search one licensee at a time. This page reads the same commission's records and lists the licenses newly issued, by county and license type.
